Two ways to learn:
Walden offers traditional course-based programs as well as competency-based programs through Tempo Learning™ by Walden.

  • Course-based education: Students progress toward their degrees by completing a prescribed set of courses within set time frames. Faculty members lead discussions and assign weekly coursework with fixed due dates.

  • Competency-based education: Students in Tempo Learning programs progress toward their degrees by mastering competencies and completing assessments. Students have the ability to customize their learning experience by choosing the order in which they complete competencies and adjusting their pace to move more quickly or slowly through the program as their needs dictate.  Programs currently offered through Tempo Learning are Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), MS in Early Childhood Studies, Graduate Certificate in Applied Project Management, and Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Administration, Management, and Leadership.
